PAP Adopts Its Third KMC Site In Iloilo

The Perinatal Association of the Philippines(PAP) in partnership with the Kangaroo Mother Care Foundation and in cooperation with the PAP Iloilo Chapter headed by its President, Dr. Joseph Aldric Gaspar, conducted the 5-days KMC Training of Trainors workshop at the Western Visayas Medical Center last August 5-9, 2013.

A total of 34 participants from both public and private institutions in Iloilo signed up for the 5-day training course on the implementation of Kangaroo Mother Care . Participants came from Western Visayas Medical Center, West Visayas State University Medical Center, Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital, Iloilo Mission Hospital, The Medical City Hospital, Seamen’s Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital. The PAP Iloilo Chapter aims to disseminate, cascade and implement the Kangaroo Mother Care Program in the region.

The highlight of the seminar is the MOA signing between the partner institutions, the Western Visayas Medical Center represented by its Chief Medical Director, Dr. Jose Mari C. Fermin, Dr. Socorro Mendoza for the Kangaroo Mother Care Foundation and Dr. Maria Cecilia O. Tolentino for the Perinatal Asssociation of the Philippines.
